The process

What the desk does, hour by hour

Nine workstreams run as one continuous cycle. Research feeds calling, calling feeds the diary, the diary feeds the client's closing conversation, and the outcome of that conversation re-enters the research.

The operating cycle — Track A, India Entry Desk
#WorkstreamWhat the desk doesOutput

04QualificationTests each account against the client's criteria — fit, volume, incumbent supplier, buying window, authority — and records the evidence rather than a yes or no.Qualified opportunity

Track B

The same disciplines, on the client's clock

Re-cut for a buyer eight to fourteen hours behind the floor, who expects a written trail and will not take a second call from someone who mispronounced the company name.

Differences

Lower volumes, richer calls

Forty connected conversations a shift against sixty-five, and twelve qualified opportunities a month against twenty. Gatekeeping is heavier, the buying committee is larger, and the written follow-up carries more of the persuasion than the call does.

Extra scope

Procurement and events

Buyer-portal and supplier registrations, framework and tender notices, pre-show outreach to fill the stand diary, and post-show follow-up executed inside seventy-two hours while response rates are still worth having.

Conduct

A stated standard

Neutral-accent certification before go-live and quarterly re-assessment. Agents use the client's brand name and their own first name; no pseudonyms, no claimed location. Registry screening, permitted calling hours and consent language are enforced at the dialler.

Mandate

Where the desk stops

A support desk that oversteps its mandate creates liability for three parties at once. The boundary is enforced through the quality form: a breach scores the call at zero.

The desk does

Research, verify and segment the market
Approach prospects in the client's name, on approved scripts
Explain the product, the range and the published price list
Qualify against agreed criteria and record the evidence
Book, confirm and protect meetings in the client's diary
Collect documents, applications and registration formalities
Follow up quotations and samples on a fixed ladder
Report activity, pipeline and market feedback on the calendar

The desk does not

Negotiate price, discount, credit or payment terms
Commit delivery dates, stock or specification changes
Sign, accept or acknowledge any contract or purchase order
Appoint a distributor or reseller on the client's behalf
Give regulatory, tax, customs or legal advice
Collect payment, deposits or advances from a prospect
Invoice in its own name for the client's goods or services
Represent itself as the client's employee, agent or branch

The client's data, the universe the desk builds and every recording remain the client's property throughout. The partner is a processor, not a controller.

The full scope runs to sixteen pages.

Workstreams, compliance position, SLAs and the worked earning model.
